Birhanu M Lenjiso (PhD)Deputy Director & Co-Founder
Dr. Lenjiso is an accomplished academician with 13 years of teaching and policy research experiences in East African. He was a lecturer & researcher at Ambo University & a consultant & Post-Doctoral Scientist at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI). Dr. Lenjiso has also been working with various educational institutions & international development organizations globally. Dr. Lenjiso is an advocate of nonviolent social activism and East African affairs analyst, with special focus on Ethiopian and Oromo affairs. His research cover various social issues such as land policy, natural resource management and smallholder agriculture, social identifies, nationalism, child welfare and gender issues. Dr. Lenjiso has published numerous works on land tenure policies and, the impact of agricultural development policies in the region in international and national peer-reviewed journals. He has a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from Radboud University Nijmegen (The Netherlands), an MA in Sociology and BA in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia).
Andarge T Taye (PhD)Deputy Director & Co-Founder
Dr. Taye is a seasoned practitioner and policy expert with over 20 years of experience as a policy consultant, investment advisor & leaders & entrepreneur development instructor in the United States and East Africa. His main research focuses on energy & financial policies. He has also been conducting seminars & delivering motivational messages in the areas of human & community development and financial services in various part of the world. Dr. Taye established & managed multiple start-up associations and organizations. He has a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Walden School of Public Policy, Minnesota and an MA from Oral Roberts University, Oklahoma (United States) and a BA in Economics from Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia).

EAPRI aims to fill the gap between research, policy and practice not only by providing objective policy research that influence policy agenda and choices but also by strengthening capacity in policy evidence utilization and political commitment for its implementation. 

At EAPRI, we believe in the power of critical information in building a brighter future. Our focus is on the opportunities and challenges of attaining the development visions and goals of the nations of East Africa region. Currently having our East African Office located in Addis Ababa, we are collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations to provide evidences that influence policy in the region. In Ethiopia, we are currently working on, among others, urban social reconstruction, youth development and employment, dialogue and reconciliation, and rural development and food safety.
